Photo album from the Snowmobile Hall Of Fame Classic Snowmobile Round-upSt. Germain, Wisconsin - May 27, 2007Typical of this show, it was heavily biased toward race sleds. There were a few nicely restored trail sleds as well as some "survivors".Two that particularly appealed to me were Fred Stancer's 1969 Yamaha, and Phil Stener's 1965 Ski Doo. At opposite ends of the restoration spectrum, Fred's Yamaha was a gleaming, meticulously restored specimen. Phil's Ski Doo on the other hand was an unmolested survivor. While not particularly noteworthy on it's own, Phil loaded the sled with a vintage Homelite chain saw, gas can, snowshoes, and a wool coat and cap. A nice display of how a working sled would have been outfitted back in the day.No race sleds in these photos. What I photograph are the sleds I personally enjoy seeing.Select the thumbnails to show the photo in a pop-up window. You may resize the window to enlarge the photo and show more detail.
